Thanx for the great war. I had more fun fighting and partying than in the last decade. I think Steve produced more casualties than just eight. Just cause of all the puke I had to dodge going to the porta-poties. :)

It was fun to command a real war unit again, with shields. Our charges were effectively devastating to our opponents. Our spears also did a great job as usual.

The class of 2006 was a strong one that included: T, Makoto and Big John. They got to vote for themselves a decent amount, which is a good omen for the future of our warband.

Also congrats to the un-belted Orkney champions. (Josh, and Alisar Sr. included) We smoked them fast and helped win a war point for the kingdom. I got many compliments and thanx and I wanted to pass them along to you.

Special thanx to Kevin and the AZ Orkneys. They were a real asset on the field and brought a real punch to our line.

Last but not least to Brand and his Bling. (Jimmy,Riley,Sammy, John, Nate and others) People couldn't stop taking pictures and we've gotten interest from a few people who want to join just cuz we look so shiny. I even got compliments on my rig cause of the shoulders. Which show that if you polish a piece of crap, people will think its gold.

In all I think we've survived the split and now are starting to thrive. Allot of people thought we might die off, but I think this war proves them wrong. Our future isn't certain, but with our continued efforts it's almost assured to be of great merit on and off the field.

Let the 5th age of the Orkneys begin, and be the finest ever!

George and Nuala,

Thanks for starting the thank you's. I too will add my own. I think our camp was splendid. Casual, warm and family focused. And even then Orkney was still the baddest band on the fighting field. I took a walk on a couple of evenings and every time I came back, there was warmth, friendship and good company waiting. From a distance our camp always seemed to glow with warm fire light.

Everywhere I went I got compliments on the Orkney's. How many there where, how splendid their armor was. Were they looking for recruits. Yes, indeed, talk to George and Brand.

I saw everyone I knew at some point in our camp. Even those who were surprising.

From the field you looked wonderful. It's hard sometimes to get a good look at you as a warband on the battlefield, but I got one good two or three minute opportunity. You are awesome fighters!!!! and what was that?

ORKNEY ARE AWESOME FIGHTERS - AWESOME WARRIORS, one and all!!

Thanks for having me.

Carynsa

We seemed to all have a great time and that makes me very happy. I'd personally would like to thank everyone for contributing and helping out around the camp to make the war doable for even a pregnant lady and her toddler spawn. And a special thank you to Carynsa and Nuala for outfitting our wardrobe challenged family. We love you all!!

I had a blast despite my knee. I really enjoyed the camp at night and the havok we wreaked on the field.

Apothecary reporting for duty!

My favorite battle was that 9 min stand we made. They charged at least 6 times before they broke our lines and even then we beat them back once more. As they gathered for the final push I looked to my left and saw Brand, spear ready for their final charge. Brand yelled out in his Force Commander voice, "FOR THE EMPEROR!" and we countered charged the enemy and died gloriously for the empire, like good space marines. *nerdy laugh*

For those of you who did not know, Jess was able to tape Big John and myself during our Gauntlet run. I am not sure why she did not tape T, kind of bumbed about that. Anyways, I will need some help getting it onto the web. Any of you guys know what I need to do?

"Men are haunted by the vastness of eternity and so we ask ourselves… Will our actions echo across the centuries? Will strangers hear our names, long after we are gone and wonder who we were, how bravely we fought, how fiercely we loved?" -From the movie "Troy"

I know what you need to do to get video up, I take it right now it's on tape in DV format? You need to hook the camera up to the computer with Firewire and transfer it. Then you will have a huge AVI that you need to edit down a bit and then transcode to a more reasonable bitrate.

I did not realize just how much I missed war but more importantly every one of you. It was great to have T back out, just see everybody, and just have a wonderful time. This is what it's all about, and as said earlier, there's nothing like coming back to camp and seeing everyone..and I do mean everyone (Orkney, Romani, and the other folks) just hangin out and laughing it up. I guess this means I have to start going to practice more...dammit.
